For more than 20 years, Showtek has refused to let genre dictate their career. From helping define hardstyle to crafting crossover hits with David Guetta and Major Lazer, the Dutch brothers (Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen) have built their reputation on constant evolution rather than standing still.
That same philosophy now serves as the foundation for F_CK THE SYSTEM.
Launching July 3, F_CK THE SYSTEM is Showtek's new record label, created in partnership with Dutch independent powerhouse Be Yourself Music. For nearly 20 years, Be Yourself has helped shape the electronic music landscape, earning a reputation for discovering and developing talent across every corner of dance music while working with artists including Bakermat, Brennan Heart, Headhunterz, Mike Williams, Tinlicker, Imanbek, and Vicetone. Together, they've created a label that reflects the full spectrum of Showtek's career, from the harder sounds that launched them to the crossover records that introduced them to audiences worldwide and the club-focused productions that define their current era.
Rather than committing to a single genre, F_CK THE SYSTEM is designed as a home for every side of Showtek's musical identity. Whether it's underground club music, festival records, or crossover releases, the label gives the duo one place to follow the music wherever it leads.
Leading the label's debut is an official collaboration with Belgian-French dance icon Kate Ryan, who joins Showtek for a new interpretation of her enduring hit, "Ella Elle L'a."
The story behind the record began in Paris. During their performance at Fun Radio Ibiza Experience inside Accor Arena, Showtek tested an early version of the track in front of thousands of fans. The reaction was immediate. The crowd sang every lyric back to them, turning what started as a live edit into a collaboration that quickly took on a life of its own.
The release also continues Showtek's long-standing connection to French music. Alongside years of collaborations with David Guetta, the duo produced the official remix of GIMS' "Ciel" in 2025, strengthening ties with one of Europe's most influential music markets. Joining them is Belgian-French dance icon Kate Ryan, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her career in 2026 with a European tour spanning Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, and beyond. With more than 3.5 million records sold, over 500 million streams and a catalog that includes "Désenchantée," "Voyage Voyage," "Libertine," and "Ella Elle L'a," Ryan remains one of Europe's most successful pop-dance artists.
Together, Showtek and Ryan preserve the spirit of "Ella Elle L'a" while giving it new life for today's dance floor. As the debut release on F_CK THE SYSTEM, the collaboration does more than revisit a classic. It introduces a label designed to reflect every side of Showtek's musical identity, from the harder sounds that launched their career to the crossover records and club-focused productions that continue to shape it today.
