San Luis Obispo, CA - Get ready for Shabang, a gem of a festival in the hills of beautiful central coast California, where top-notch music meets art, interactivity, learning, culture, community, and so much more. Shabang Music & Arts Festival will take place at Dairy Creek Golf Course in San Luis Obispo, May 2nd and 3rd, 2026.
Started in 2012 by a group of passionate college kids, Shabang has grown into a yearly celebration of California's central coast. An intimate festival with an eclectic lineup, Shabang features beautiful stage designs, workshops, yoga, vendors, and a gorgeous backdrop at the base of a mountain. In other words, you can get the whole shabang at Shabang.
Musical Lineup
On Saturday, May 2nd, French electronic duo Polo & Pan will bring their disco and house-inspired compositions to the stage, with a whimsical, cheery, and upbeat flavor. Utah-based alt-rock band The Backseat Lovers will deliver their signature chill indie guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals. Additionally, Saturday talent includes alternative/indie singer-songwriter Chezile, self-taught DJ and producer Jackie Hollander, one-half of sibling duo Wild Belle, jazz/soul/rock singer Natalie Bergman, and many more.
Sunday, May 3rd talent includes tech-house titan Chris Lake, alternative progressive pop duo Magdalena Bay, NYC-based multi-genre electronic duo Fcukers, and Turkish singer-songwriter pop phenomenon Inji, and more.
Both days will feature support from local San Luis Obispo fan-favorites like indie rock and alt-pop band B & the Hive, soulful R&B group Hot 45, pop-rock cover band Brass Mash, indie rock band Avalynn, and more.
Workshops, Art, Culture and Community
Shabang brings together a tasteful blend of the 805 SLO vibe by featuring local musicians, craft vendors, artisans, and more, in order to create a unique representation of the local arts culture, lifestyle, and community that makes the central coast so special. There will also be a plethora of workshops and yoga classes to enjoy, with the unique Shabang University Stage featuring a blend of exciting offerings crowdsourced from the community.
In between stages, you can stumble upon immersive art installations, collaborative canvases, exhibits, art cars, with lots of surprises around the corner to keep you in the moment and to inspire awe. Shabang brings together the perfect blend of food vendors, art, classes, music, and so much more. You can plug into Central Coast culture and take home an experience that will last a lifetime.

In 2012, permitless and passionate, a few college kids had an idea to throw a festival on Cuesta Ridge. Flash forward a decade later, this festival has become Shabang where you can take in the beauty of San Luis Obispo at the base of a mountain.
