first-timer tips: don’t forget these on your packing list!
Thornville, Ohio – If this is your first Lost Lands, buckle up – you’re about to step into a world where 1 million watts of bass meets prehistoric vibes, and three days somehow feel like a lifetime. Whether you’re a total newbie or a festival veteran, this festival packing list will give you some essentials you need to make the most out of your first Lost Lands experience.

Festival Essentials
- Hydration Pack / Water Bottle – There are free refill stations everywhere. Stay hydrated!
- Portable Charger + Cables – You will drain your phone filming sets. I usually bring 2!
- Ear Protection – 1 MILLION watts of bass. Enough said!

- Sunscreen + Sunglasses – there isn’t much shade at the mainstages. Protect yoself!
- Comfortable Rave Shoes – You’ll walk MILES every day. I also bring a second pair of sandals for lounging at camp!
- Cards – Lost Lands is a CASHLESS festival. They do have a Cash-To-Card Exchange though!

Camping Gear Must-Haves
- Tent + Rain Cover / Canopy – Place a canopy over your tent for an extra layer of protection from the sun and rain!
- Canopy + Shade Setup – Bring an extra canopy for your “common area”. Bonus points if you put a reflective tarp over it…
- Air Mattress + Sleeping Bag – your sleep is SO important out there. Please bring an air mattress and pump, and maybe a mattress topper too!
- Extra Blankets – Ohio nights get COLD

Non-Negotiables
- Cooling Towels + Mini Fans – Ohio days are HOT
- Baby Wipes – Showers are there, but wipes are a festival essential (for potty reasons too)
- Electrolytes – I favor Liquid IV but anything works. I recommend regular electrolytes, NOT sugar-free (the sugar hydrates you better)

Lost Lands Pro Tips for First-Timers
1. Download the Lost Lands App
Set times, maps, and real-time updates. Turn on notifications so you don’t miss surprise sets or secret takeovers. I especially like it because you can create your own schedule!
2. Plan Your Sets, But Stay Flexible
Lost Lands’ lineup is STACKED. Make a wishlist, but don’t stress if plans change. Some of my best moments come from wandering into random stages and discovering new artists.
3. Pace Yourself
Three days is a long time. Go hard… but don’t gas out by Saturday. Hydrate, eat, and rest when you can. You can pop-a-squat literally anywhere in the festival.
4. Meet Other Headbangers
Lost Lands isn’t just a festival — it’s a community. Talk to your neighbors, trade kandi, join campsites, and make friends. You’ll leave with a lifelong rave fam (and I bet you go to a future festival with them too).
5. Respect Legend Valley
Pick up after yourself, follow the leave-no-trace ideology, and respect the prehistoric playground. The festival stays magical because we take care of it together!
Listed above are the absolute essentials to bring. I hope it helps! Also, I have a more in-depth packing list of camp items here. I’m so excited to be back in dubstep disneyland!
